Sunday, walking around the Springfield Cemetary. It's becoming one of my favorite local places to visit. I've been thinking about creating a picture and story book about this cemetary. It's a facinating place.

I had to be in Amherst Monday night to pick up cards at the Copy Shop with a friend and there was band playing in the common. Of course I had my camera with me. The band was pretty good so he and I hung around a while listening to the music. She sang very well on top of playing a mean bass guitar. (not to mention some pretty good moves).

I was out of town for last three days on a business trip in Maine (uneventful). Got up early this morning and went through my picture files. I noticed this picture I took in my trip last month through the eastern Sierras. Taken a few miles from Mono Lake in California facing the Sierras. The eastern entrance to Yosemite is in the mountains you're seeing in the picture. I stopped on a road going to a ghost town but the road was closed due to heavy snow.

"Snow Trees"

 

A wet and dreary Sunday morning greeted New Englanders today, a Nor 'easter the weatherman called it. Expected to receive 2-4 inches of rain. I decided to go to Northampton in the morning and it was snowing like it was a blizzard. It was pretty cool and I hung around to take pics of people walking around with their raincoats and umbrellas. I think I may have taken a few keepers. I'll know when I get the film developed.

When I got back home I spent 4 to 5 hours in the darkroom developing and printing some negatives I took earlier this year down at the Cape.

Above four images taken with a film camera. I think the grain adds character to the prints.

I still prefer shooting with film even though it is a LOT more work than digital.
